Concerning “ME”
david on May 1st, 2008 | Filed under Uncategorized
It’s amazing how much everything in our life revolves around ME. These two little words are very powerful and shape the core of our thinking and our perspective on life. The great thing about God’s intimate relationship with us that Jesus personally died for ME. I mean, by name, by purpose, by sacrifice…..ME. Of course, not just ME, but for all. The ME is realized fully when I give my life to him and experience the power of forgiveness and grace. Also, known as a “personal relationship with Jesus Christ.” It’s real….It’s true….He really gives us significance by giving his life for ME.
When that happens and our lives are changed Jesus take the ME and makes it HIM. Here’s how it looked in our eyes before I accepted Christ…..ME -him. After accepting Christ here’s how it looks….me- HIM. Of course, He loves me and my feelings, my goals, my struggles, and all that is involved in this personal relationship deepens even more. But what about ME?
That ME is gone and the new me is in place. A me that is totally surrendered to HIM and HIS will in all areas. Instead of ME being the focus, HE is the focus. Hebrews 12:2 says “Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith.”
Here’s the Cliff Notes version: ME before him means no direction and life is based on ME and MY feelings. me after HIM means all is right and life is based on HIM and HIS ways. If we don’t keep the me and HIM in the right place we have NO direction. With them in the right place, life really comes into focus, and our faith moves toward the perfection we keep hearing about.
How do we change this misappropriation of rights? Forget the wrong ME and He will perfect the real real me into a me that looks like HIM!

Summer is clicking along and Worship Ministry numbers continue on like there is no summer vacation. Sounds Biblical doesn’t it? Servants taking advantage of every day, not just school days to serve the King. Thanks for stepping up Celebration Choir, Praise Teams, and Resonate during the summer months. Scripture says, “Be redeeming the time, for the days are evil.” Ephesians 5:16. Sounds like a good bride prepared for the bridegroom when He comes. God is truly blessing us by your faithful commitment. Keep it up and stay vigilant!!
